Otto Placzek (25 January 1884 – 30 September 1968) was a German sculptor. His work was part of the art competitions at the 1932 Summer Olympics and the 1936 Summer Olympics.[1]. His works include the tombstone of art collector Henriette Hertz (1846 - 1913) in the Protestant Cemetery in Rome, and figures for the " Cmetery of the March Fallen" in Berlin.. A member of the Nazi party, Placzek executed several portraits of Adolf Hitler. In addition to creating the official medals for the 1936 Olympics, Placzek designed numerous military insigna, medals and decorations during the Third Reich.
