Anton Tabone (born 1937) is a Maltese politician who served as the First Minister of Gozo Affairs from 1987 to 1996 and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Malta from 1998 to 2008.[1]
Education
He earned his PhD of Law from the University of Malta in 1995.[2]
Political career
He joined politics in 1966 in the Nationalist Party as a Parliament and was a executive committee member in the Nationalist Party, he was also member in the new Gozo Civic Council. When serving as the speaker in house, he promoted the initiative of establishment the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean and the secretariat, when Malta parliament joined the European Union in 2004 he was involved in transition of the Malta's parliament from non member state to a member state.[3]
He served as Maltese Diplomat under the United Nations posted New York City, at the time also, he was the Consul to Maltese communities residing in the New York and New Jersey state, he was president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Malta before returning to joined the Local Council Elections in Victoria. He was invited to contest for Malta’s first ever European Parliament election.[4]
He operates his own private legal practice for more than 10 years and specifically in Corporate Law and Financial Services, he was the director of Malta registered Professional Investor Funds and Companies. He is a Malta Identity agent for licensed in all aspect of Maltese citizenship, residency and visa programme for Malta Individual Investor Programme in 2015.[5]
