== Your Teahouse Question == |
|||
Hi there, as a Teahouse host, I do apologize that your question wasn’t answered by an experienced editor. I will do my best to answer it now. In a WikiProject there is no leader. Every member has an equal share in the project. There are, however, coordinators who have no more power than anyone else but are there to organise drives or events. I appreciate your willingness to revive the WikiProject and I am happy to support you in that. That being said, you are still a developing editor (just as I am) meaning an endeavour this large will definitely be challenging. Editors back in 2013 have already created the project page, which helps hugely. Could you direct me to the page which explains reviving a WikiProject, so that I can explain it to you the best I can. Regards, Willbb234Talk <small>(please ping me in replies)</small> 09:19, 17 August 2019 (UTC) |

:Willbb234 Dear user, thanks for your kind words! Now i understood that there is no leader. The page i said was that:Wikipedia:WikiProject_Council/Guide#Dealing_with_inactive_WikiProjects (the paragraph under that). It says how to in generally simple words, but for some reason this still seems to me a little puzzling. Also, i would like to ask something more: How can i become a coordinator? I await your reply, <span style="color:DeepSkyBlue">Eni</span> <span style="color:red">vak</span> <span style="color:Teal">(speak)</span> 09:52, 17 August 2019 (UTC) |

::Yes, definitely worth giving it a go! Coordinators are generally nominated through a consensus from the members of the project. Coordinators are there to organize events, especially in large WikiProjects, but, as the WikiProject isn't even active, I don't think there is a need for any coordinators yet. I will head over to the WikiProject and write a little introduction detailing how there are a couple of editors willing to revive the project, and ask for any other help if it can be given. == Sources needed for Days of the Year pages == |
|||
I see you recently accepted a pending change to September 16 that did not include a direct source. |
|||
You're probably not aware of this change, but Days of the Year pages are no longer exempt from WP:V and direct sources are required for additions. For details see the content guideline and the WikiProject Days of the Year style guide. I've gone ahead and un-accepted this edit and backed it out. |
|||
All the pages in the Days of the Year project have had pending changes protection turned on to prevent vandalism and further addition of entries without direct sources. As a pending changes patroller, please do not accept additions to day of year pages where no direct source has been provided on that day of year page. The burden to provide sources for additions to these pages is on the editor who adds or restores material to these pages. Thank you. :Toddst1 Dear fellow recent changes patroller, thanks for mentioning to me my mistake and reverting it. I will be more cautious en the future, and probably i will avoid such articles until i understand what's going on. Dear fellow wikipedians, I want to ask you a question: I want also to contribute to the Greek Wikipedia (because I am Greek), but I don’t know: shall I create a new account to do that, or I can us that one?
Enivak (talk) 19:46, 22 June 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Enivak! I searched around and found [1] which states user accounts are global across all wikis so you should be able to use this one for the Greek Wikipedia. S0091 (talk) 20:04, 22 June 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, accounts can be used on any Wikimedia project. 331dot (talk) 20:10, 22 June 2019 (UTC)
Thanks both! I have and a last question: I must translate my user page to Greek, or make a new one there? Enivak (talk) 20:38, 22 June 2019 (UTC)
- According to WP:GUP, you can create a global user page on Meta. Instructions for transitioning existing user pages is included. S0091 (talk) 20:41, 22 June 2019 (UTC)
Thanks again, sorry if I am posting so much notices! :-) Enivak (talk) 20:43, 22 June 2019 (UTC)
- No apology necessary. You are doing the right thing by asking questions and actually helping me learn by trying to answer them. :) S0091 (talk) 20:47, 22 June 2019 (UTC)
- -) Enivak (talk) 20:48, 22 June 2019 (UTC)
I also want also to ask something irrelevant: How can I register on the WikiProjects? (I know that I am new and the most possible thing is that they will not accept me, but I am interested in joining the automobiles and the music one because I am a musician and I am interested in automobiles) Best regards, Enivak (talk) 10:26, 23 June 2019 (UTC)
- Hi again! It depends on the project, apparently. For WP:WikiProject Automobiles, you add
User WikiProject Automobiles
to your userpage (just copy/paste). For others, you add your name to a member list on the project site. There is no acceptance criteria so once you add yourself, you are member. Easy! :) Also, your talk page is on my watchlist which is how I see you have posted something. However, I am not around consistently so you might want to ask questions at the Teahouse or by using a new help template. Of course, I am always happy to help but don't want you to have wait for me. Also, see WP:TP which has guidance on using talk pages. There's a format to follow (indenting, etc.). S0091 (talk) 15:40, 23 June 2019 (UTC)
Thanks! I thought it was a more complicated thing, but I see it is easy! Also, thanks for your continued happiness in helping me and other new users like me! Enivak (talk) 17:28, 23 June 2019 (UTC)
- Παρακαλώ! (Note, I used Google translate so hopefully this means "you are welcome"). :) S0091 (talk) 17:37, 23 June 2019 (UTC)
Yes, it does! Cool! Enivak (talk) 17:47, 23 June 2019 (UTC) I have now logged in on my computer, I will start training. I can't wait until I'm ready to do normal contributions! Thanks, Enivak (talk) 10:48, 25 June 2019 (UTC)
- Dear user @S0091:,
I have one question: the policy about the user access levels says:<<Although the precise requirements for autoconfirmed status vary according to circumstances, most English Wikipedia user accounts that are more than four days old and have made at least 10 edits (including deleted ones) are considered autoconfirmed>>. However my account is more than 4 days ago and has circa 100 edits, and i am not received something that says that i am autoconfirmed. And, i have not the IP block exception flag, nor i am using the Tor network to have the restrictions. What i should do to gain that status? Thanks again, Enivak (talk) 17:08, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
- You are Autoconfirmed: [2]. If you click on Contributions, then scroll to the bottom there are options to view your contribution summaries (User Rights, Edit Count, etc.). S0091 (talk) 17:26, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks! It doesn't mention it in User rights, but it does in the link you have sent to me, so i am. It seems a little weird to me that i was not informed that i am autoconfirmed, but now i see it i am sastified Thanks again for the help!Enivak (talk) 17:53, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
- Ahh, you are correct about user rights. It appears things like Extended Confirmed or other rights that are granted (like Admin rights, Pending Changes Reviewer, etc.) display there. Yeah, I am not sure why a notification is not generated when you gain rights so you just have check manually. S0091 (talk) 18:18, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, i agree the system wants some development about these. Nevertheless, thanks for informing me, because i had no idea about the website on the link you have sent to me. Enivak (talk) 21:16, 29 June 2019 (UTC)

A minor sonata
Coming over from my talk: What do you think of a table of movements such as in Ich will den Kreuzstab gerne tragen, BWV 56? There's music for some notations. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:24, 18 July 2019 (UTC)
- @Gerda Arendt: Hey Gerda, thanks for coming in my talk page, now it will be more easy for me to reply to you! About your suggestion, it is not a bad idea, but this type of this list is a summary of many, big and complex movements. The Sonata in A minor has not many nor big nor complex movements, so it is preferable in the sub-headings to be given more information rather than numbering. If it was a greater work, I would follow your suggestion. Enivak (talk) 19:27, 18 July 2019 (UTC)

Help me! (2)
This request for help from administrators has been answered. If you need more help or have additional questions, please reapply the admin help template, or contact the responding user(s) directly on their own user talk page. |
Dear wikipedia administrators, I do not know if I should use the help desk instead, but I think my problem is closely related with you. I have noticed 2 things:
1) I am not am administrator neither a rolbacker, but for some reason, when I see the most recent edit in an article, I nevertheless see the 3 rollback buttons ([rollback (AGF)], [rollback] and [rollback (VANDAL)]). I have never used them. As I know that rollback and it's ecuilevants are dangerous in the wrong hands, what means that I nevertheless see them?
2) https://xtools.wmflabs.org/ec/en.wikipedia.org/Enivak says that I have also an account in the Indian and Uzbekistan wikipedia, but I have never interactions in them. One day I suddenly see a welcome message from the Indian wikipedia. The only other wikipedia that I have interactions is the greek one, as I have done some edits there (if we except other Wikimedia projects, but again only using their English version.) Again, what to do? I await your reply,
Enivak (talk) 15:15, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
- Have you recently activated Twinkle? If you don't know what that is, then the answer is no. 331dot (talk) 17:00, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
- @331dot: Yes (I proposed a merge with it) Enivak (talk) 18:13, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
- Okay, so the additional links you refer to are part of Twinkle. They essentially provide the same user rights as the rollback user right, but without needing to ask for it. 331dot (talk) 18:20, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
- @331dot: Thanks! Your opinion about question 2? I never did anything in these wikis to trigger that. (and something more: now I can rollback without being a rolbacker? I will never use this but I'm just asking) Enivak (talk) 18:29, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
- I think I know that answer but I am not entirely confident in it, so I will leave this open for another administrator. 331dot (talk) 18:44, 28 July 2019 (UTC)

- As for question 2, you do not need to do anything. When you create an account, by default it is a global account. It means your user account is automatically created across all Wikimedia sites. For more information, please see m:Help:Unified login. Mkdw talk 18:45, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
- @Mkdw: Thank you. I knew that, but how is explained the welcome message from the Indian wiki? Also, the link does not say all wikis, it just says the projects I did the edits and these two. Enivak (talk) 18:50, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
- The tool only lists accounts where there has been some activity (a wiki you have visited, edited, or someone has edited your user space). By simply visiting hi.wiki, the system recognized your account and left you an automated welcome message. For example, I went to check your user talk page on hi.wiki (which was the first time I have ever visited hi.wiki). It instantly it left me a welcome message on my user talk page. Regardless of the accounts listed at the tool, your account exists on all wikis. Mkdw talk 19:06, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
- @Mkdw:Ok, But I had never visited these wikis (especially the Uzbekistan one-i had visited the Indian one only after they snd me a message to see what was that) (by the way, sorry if I am boring) Enivak (talk) 19:14, 28 July 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion
Hi. Please remember that tagging an article for speedy deletion is effectively asking an admin to 'delete without process'. If we are to do that, it has to be clear-cut (unambiguous). Let's look at Wiima, where you specified 3 different criteria. That you need to specify 3 criteria suggests either you're just hoping at least one will stick, or you don't understand the criteria - so let's examine each criterion with respect to the article in question:
- A1: This applies to articles lacking sufficient context to identify the subject of the article. Example: "He is a funny man with a red car. He makes people laugh." If any information in the title or on the page, including links, allows an editor, possibly with the aid of a web search, to find further information on the subject in an attempt to expand or edit it, A1 is not appropriate. - I typed "Wiima microcar" into Google and came up with numerous non-Wikipedia hits including this: https://www.allcarindex.com/main-index/car-make-details/Finland-Wiima/
- A3: This applies to articles consisting only of external links, category tags and "See also" sections, a rephrasing of the title, attempts to correspond with the person or group named by its title, questions that should have been asked at a noticeboard, chat-like comments, template tags, and/or images. - Not applicable. The article is short, but it has prose beyond a rephrasing of the title.
- G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion - It's hard to see what's being promoted, as the vehicle was a prototype from the 1950s!
The article has existed since 2007 and doesn't meet the speedy deletion criteria. Give it due process - propose deletion using Template:Prod, or send it to WP:AFD. (I've done the former). Thanks for reading! --kingboyk (talk) 16:59, 11 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Kingboyk: Dear user, thanks for notifying me! The truth is that i knew the meaning of these criteria, but I was a little thoughtless on applying them, I apologize for consuming administrator's time because of my fastness. I will say that I did it and on other micro-stubs like that, I will go to correct my mistake. After your description, I understood that A1 and A3 did not apply to that. About the G11, I will agree that it is an old prototype (there is not reason to promote it), but the mention that it was a <<true microcar>>, does it seems a little? Again, sorry for creating a mini-mess, Eni vak (speak) 21:27, 11 August 2019 (UTC)
- (Note: I see you have fixed them, thanks!) Eni vak (speak) 21:38, 11 August 2019 (UTC)
Did you have any particular news in mind? Eddaido (talk) 01:35, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Eddaido: Dear user, thanks for asking me. The truth is that the article in some points does not say that he company was defunct (when it should), and it says that some subsidiaries are still active were they clearly are not. Eni vak (speak) 12:26, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks, you are clearly more up to date about Humber Limited than I am. Please amend the article to suit you (with cites) and if I should dispute anything I can come back to you. Thanks, Eddaido (talk) 12:46, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- Ok, I am working now on some drafts, when I finish them I will come to it. Best regards, Eni vak (speak) 12:50, 12 August 2019 (UTC)

Your Teahouse Question
Hi there, as a Teahouse host, I do apologize that your question wasn’t answered by an experienced editor. I will do my best to answer it now. In a WikiProject there is no leader. Every member has an equal share in the project. There are, however, coordinators who have no more power than anyone else but are there to organise drives or events. I appreciate your willingness to revive the WikiProject and I am happy to support you in that. Sources needed for Days of the Year pages
I see you recently accepted a pending change to September 16 that did not include a direct source.
You're probably not aware of this change, but Days of the Year pages are no longer exempt from WP:V and direct sources are required for additions. For details see the content guideline and the WikiProject Days of the Year style guide. I've gone ahead and un-accepted this edit and backed it out.
Thank you. Toddst1 (talk) 13:58, 17 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Toddst1: Dear fellow recent changes patroller, thanks for mentioning to me my mistake and reverting it. I will be more cautious en the future, and probably i will avoid such articles until i understand what's going on. Thanks again, Eni vak (speak) 14:01, 17 August 2019 (UTC)
