Tynt Meadow Trappist Ale is a top fermented British Trappist beer with an alcohol content of 7.4%. The beer is brewed in the Trappist Abbey of Mount Saint-Bernard in Coalville (Leicestershire).

Background

On March 6, 2017, the abbey of Mount Saint-Bernard joined the International Trappist Association [1].

In 2017-2018 a brewery was built in the abbey and from July 9, 2018 'Tynt Meadow Ale, a dark beer, came was released to the market.

On September 17, 2018, the beer received the official Authentic Trappist Products label and became the twelfth official Trappist beer in the world [2].

The name of the abbey (St Bernard) could not be used as the name of the produce due to the rights being assigned to the preexisting Belgian St. Bernard beers. Due to this, it was decided to name the beer after the hill Tynt Meadow near the abbey where the history of the abbey began [3].
