== Reporting User Sid95Q ==

I am not sure what the role of this user Sid95Q is or how much of knowledge or training he has - to moderate but it’s very poor. At first for all the edits I did were ignored and was reverted back even though I provided necessary source links. My latest changes on ‘Super30’ page after doing 2 hour research (since I liked the plot of the movie) I updated content based on facts. But everything was reverted back. This has now discouraged me from making any changes in future but I thought I should let you know so others still keep updating and not feel like waste of time. Some important guidelines

Hi Based on your recent edits I think these links will be helpful to you. Please read them carefully.

  • MOS:TV - Manual of Style for Television
  • Template:Infobox television - Information about the parameters to be used in the television article infobox
  • WP:NOTTVGUIDE - Wikipedia is not TV guide so we don't add information like Time slots and other airing history
  • WP:CRYSTAL- Wikipedia is Not Crystal ball so we don't add scheduled or expected future events like adding end date of the series before the actual date and updating episodes in advance.

Thanks. Sid95Q (talk) 04:26, 10 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Solan, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Chail (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Control copyright icon Hello Rickyurs, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Kufri, India have been removed, as they appear to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 13:21, 12 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. www.census2011.co.in is a copyright website, and therefore it's not okay for you to copy their material to Wikipedia. It looks like a government of India website, but it's not, and even if it were, it would not be okay to copy, because the Government of India copyrights their material as well. All material you add to Wikipedia needs to be written in your own words please. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 14:18, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ok,keep that in mind while editing. I will rewrite and fix. Thanks Rickyurs (talk) 14:34, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2018 election voter message

Hello, Rickyurs. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, re: this edit, starsunfolded.com is not a valid reference. The fact that a website exists does not mean that the content is suitable for inclusion at Wikipedia. Being able to distinguish between a reliable and unreliable source is important. A rule of thumb is that we are interested in what sources with established reputations for fact-checking and accuracy have to say about any given subject. If you don't know anything about a website or who is behind it, or who the editor is or who the journalists are, then you shouldn't use that source, and should instead stick to major mainstream publications. See WP:ICTF#Guidelines on sources for a general list of sources that are and are not considered reliable in the context of Indian entertainment. Thank you, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 00:22, 23 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Where did these numbers come from?

Rickyurs, re: these changes, where did those numbers come from? If you're making a claim about how many people saw the film, you need to provide strong references. Thank you, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 05:10, 28 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Posters

You need to stop "updating" posters for Hindi films as soon as a new one becomes available. The purpose of an infobox image in film articles is not to promote the film but to showcase the most common poster used during release. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 19:09, 23 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Idea is to have all the available posters but display the most common and the best one displayed. You be the decider of the best one and revert to that. If we don't have all the posters how can we decide which is most common or the best one. Anyways thanks for guidance. Rickyurs (talk) 03:27, 24 January 2019 (UTC)Rickyurs[reply]

False article titles

Hi there, re: this, please don't fabricate titles to our references. The reference title is pretty simply "Luka Chuppi Box Office" as detailed here. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 04:06, 22 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Checking intermediates

Hi Rickyurs, out of curiosity, do you happen to check intermediate edits when you update pages? Sometimes stuff can slip past, like the vandalism here that occured before your edits. If you could, that would be helpful. I know it's more time consuming, but we need all the eyes we can to keep problematic content out. Much obliged, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 04:09, 16 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi sir, I didn't check the intermediate edits. Somehow it never occurred to me. In future I shall keep this in mind. I request for temporary semi protection of the article against persistent disruptive editing and vandalism. Thanks. Rickyurs (talk) 04:33, 16 April 2019 (UTC)Rickyurs[reply]

Adding our personal opinions

Hi there, though I know you meant well when you made this edit, we should not be adding our personal opinions or evaluations or summaries to articles. If the critical response was mixed, then we need to find a reliable source that makes that claim. It's too easy for us as editors to add biased content, whether on purpose or not. If I like a film I might be more inclined to unconsciously cherrypick reviews that are positive, then summarise a film as having a positive reception. I'm sure you can see why this could be a problem. Please see our policy on original research. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:13, 18 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Additionally, re: this, we do not publish subjective declarations like "blockbuster", "superhit", "failure", "flop", etc. as though they were fact. This not only places an undue emphasis on one source's opinion, but it also violates our neutrality policy. You may notice in western cinema articles that we don't use Rotten Tomatoes' "rotten" or "fresh" ratings for the same reason. A statement like "the film was financially successful" is preferred over exaggerations. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 03:44, 19 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Bold face

Hi there, re: this edit, it's unclear why you opted for bold face. Bold face should be used sparingly. Film titles are not typically bolded. See MOS:BOLD please. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 03:33, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:Jhund Film Poster.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Source is a dead link, so no way of knowing where it came from.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. A tag has been placed on File:Chehre Poster.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello Rickyurs. I am having trouble getting my draft article accepted. Could you take a look at Draft:Mahindra e2o Plus? For some reason, all the images you upload look poor in quality and badly resized. What software do you use for resizing? I suggest you upload the image into Photopea and reduce the width alone; the height will simultaneously be reduced. @Kailash29792: As suggested I tried Photopea for one of the images I have uploaded, I saved it in top quality. The difference is little. I reduce the width alone as the corresponding height is automatically displayed. Anyways, I will use this online software for reducing size in future. Thanks for bringing it to notice. Please check the image at Batla House and please comment. Thanks. Rickyurs (talk) 11:12, 6 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Good. The Auto Tone, Auto Contrast and Auto Colour features also help enhance the image at times. --Kailash29792 (talk) 12:20, 6 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Reporting User Sid95Q

I am not sure what the role of this user Sid95Q is or how much of knowledge or training he has - to moderate but it’s very poor. At first for all the edits I did were ignored and was reverted back even though I provided necessary source links. My latest changes on ‘Super30’ page after doing 2 hour research (since I liked the plot of the movie) I updated content based on facts. But everything was reverted back. This has now discouraged me from making any changes in future but I thought I should let you know so others still keep updating and not feel like waste of time.
