Tracy R. Tormé (born April 12, 1959) is an American screenwriter and television producer.

Early life

Tormé was born on April 12, 1959, in Los Angeles, California to Arlene Miles and singer Mel Tormé.[1]

Career

Tormé is best known for having created the science fiction series Sliders, but worked for Saturday Night Live, Odyssey 5, Star Trek: The Next Generation and Carnivàle as well.[2]

In 1991 with Barry Oringer, Tormé wrote the screenplay for the miniseries Intruders which premiered on CBS on May 17, 1992 and ended on May 19, 1992.[3] Intruders was based on the book of the same name by Budd Hopkins.[4] Also in 1992, Tormé wrote the screenplay for Fire in the Sky based on Travis Walton's book The Walton Experience.[5]

Accolades

Tormé was nominated for the 1993 Saturn Award for Best Writing for his screenplay on the film Fire in the Sky.[6]

Personal life

Tormé's siblings are Steve, Melissa, Daisy and James Tormé, all of Los Angeles, and two siblings, Carrie Tormé and Kurt Goldsmith.[7]
