WTKE-FM (100.3 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a sports/talk format. Licensed to Niceville, Florida, United States, the station serves the Fort Walton Beach area. WTKE-FM is owned by [receiver] Lee Hagan and the station's broadcast license is currently held by Ft. Walton Beach License Company, LLC.[1]

This station serves as Fort Walton Beach's affiliate of the New Orleans Saints Radio Network anchored by flagship station WWL (AM) and WWL-FM in New Orleans, Louisiana.

History

The station was assigned call sign WNCV on May 7, 1992. On August 1, 2006, the station changed its call sign to WRKN. On November 19, 2009, WRKN swapped call signs with sister station WTKE-FM (which became WHWY).[2]

WFTW-AM, which began operating in 1953, and was owned and operated by Wilbur R. Powell of Vacationland Broadcasting of Crestview, FL. It was a 1,000 watt daytime station operating at 1260 kHz. In 1965, WFTW-FM 99.3 began operating at the same facility, and was mostly a simulcast of the AM programming. I joined WFTW as an announcer/engineer in 1966. We were told to announce the call letters as "WFTW-FM and WFTW, Fort Walton Beach, Florida", as they were really trying to promote the FM station.[3] The AM station WNUE is now The Ticket and is home to The Ticket Sports Network that includes WDSP 1280 AM, WFDM 1400. All owned by Lee Hagan of Fort Walton Beach,
