Identification of casinos
The article currently says: The gaming abstract as published only says there are 38 casinos that are in the Gaming Commission's definition of the Strip, the individual names of those casinos are not published since it is not permitted under state law.
I can understand the commission's not revealing the revenues of the casinos, but their names? I've been to the Las Vegas Strip. The casinos there don't exactly conceal their identities. They have signs and everything. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 06:14, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
- Yea. The strip area is not limited to casinos actually on the strip. The gaming area expands beyond the strip itself. So while some may be a mile or more away the Strat, as I recall, which is a block off the strip is included in downtown. Vegaswikian (talk) 22:08, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
- The Palms and the Rio are not on Las Vegas Boulevard either; they're on Flamingo Road, separated from the Strip proper by Interstate 15. But the LV Strip gaming area is a legally defined area, presumably, although I can't actually find the definition. If the legal definition of the Strip gaming area were available, it would be pretty clear which casinos were included. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 04:13, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
