The Lost City Museum, formerly known as the Boulder Dam Park Museum, was built by the CCC conservation corps in 1935 and operated by the Nevada State Park services to exhibit artifacts from Pueblo Grande de Nevada. The museum is located in Overton, Nevada and is one of seven managed by the Nevada Division of Museums and History, an agency of the Nevada Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs.[1]
The museum offers a reconstructed Anasazi building that is open to visitors.[2]
History
The museum was established as a place to house and show the artifacts from Pueblo Grande de Nevada which was going to be partially covered by the waters of Lake Mead as a result of building the Hoover Dam.
