Currently, over 17 million copies of the PC/Mac edition have been sold. The article only says 15 million copies. I recommend that someone updates this information. https://minecraft.net/stats shows how many people have bought the PC/Mac edition. 184.19.99.236 (talk) 15:48, 13 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Number of copies updated. I used a third party source instead of minecraft.net though. Sarahj2107 (talk) 16:07, 13 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The last paragraph in the introduction should be changed from: "On September 15, 2014, Microsoft announced a deal to buy Mojang, the developer of Minecraft, granting the company ownership of the game's intellectual property. The all-cash deal is worth $2.5 billion, and the deal was completed on November 6th, 2014."

In the "Critical" subsection of the "Reception" section, "it has starting" should grammatically be "it has started". 2601:E:100:7C9:5068:8B8F:4ACA:CC83 (talk) 05:33, 28 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Intro suggestions

Regarding the first sentence ("Minecraft is a sandbox independent video game"), the phrase 'open world' would be more understandable. I think 'sandbox' has too many other connotations.

More important, if Microsoft has bought Mojang, is it still an independent video game? Especially at a $2.5B value? Maybe skip commenting on that in this intro.

Maybe change the first sentence to: Minecraft is a popular open world video game originally created by Swedish programmer Markus "Notch" Persson and developed and published by the Swedish company Mojang since 2009..

Hi,
Should there be a link to the Minecraft Forums in the External Links section? After all, it's Minecraft's main community page :).

Not done: as you have not requested a specific wording an have not cited reliable sources to back up your request, without which no information should be added to, or changed in, any article. - Arjayay (talk) 19:41, 9 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"nearly 2.4 million copies have been sold across all platforms" ... this is incorrect. I believe it should read, "nearly 54 million copies..." 140.254.45.32 (talk) 15:37, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Anupmehra -Let's talk! 15:51, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I've done this. The lead was incorrect and/or out of date. The sources down in the Commercial subsection of the Reception section cover it. -- ferret (talk) 18:17, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
