"Ils sont cools" is a song by French rapper Orelsan featuring fellow French rapper and Casseurs Flowters member Gringe and produced by Spanish producer-DJ duo Cookin' Soul. Coming from Orelsan's second studio album Le chant des sirènes, the song entered the French Singles Chart at number 143 on 23 June 2012, and has since peaked at number 66, although it hasn't been released as a single.[1]
Music video
The music video was released on 22 June 2012 on YouTube.[2] Directed by David Tomaszewski, Orelsan and Gringe pose as superheroes similar to the Power Rangers, and for most of the video the two are seen preparing themselves for an imminent attack. Towards the end of the video, Orelsan and Gringe are seen looking up at Ablaye (co-founder of the record label 7th Magnitude, to which both rappers are signed), and after he taunts them, the two rappers perform a fusion technique similar to that of Goku and Vegeta from Dragonball Z. The resulting transformation includes a monkey's tail, which fits the name, "Orelsinge" (a portmanteau of Orelsan and Gringe; the word "singe" is French for "monkey"), that the transformation presents itself as. Orelsinge is then seen jumping up with his right fist towards the sky, before the video shifts to a clip saying "À suivre..." ("To be continued...").
