Escalona: Vol. 2 is the companion soundtrack to the telenovela “Escalona”, released in 1992. The album is an additional collection of classic tracks from vallenato legend Rafael Escalona, performed by the show’s star, singer/composer Carlos Vives. Like the soap opera the album is based on, the soundtrack would become a success, and would mark the first collaboration of Carlos and the band La Provincia. The popularity of this recording would result in the culmination of Vives and La Provincia’s runaway success, their first proper album Clasicos de la Provincia.
