Salvador Fernando Miguel Karadima Fariña (born August 30, 1930) is a Catholic priest in Chile. He was an important religious influence for many of the high clergy, until he was convicted in 2011 by Vatican of "sexually abusing minors" and abuse of ecclesiastical power.

Karadima case

In 2010 it was released to the public the existence of a number of complaints against him for the sexual abuse of his young male apprencies.[1] After an investigation by the Vatican of the Karadima case, Fernando Karadima was on January 16, 2011, convicted of "sexually abusing minors" and abuse of ecclesiastical power and ordered him to retire.[2]
