Template:Geobox Převýšov is a village and municipality in the Czech Republic located about 4 km west of Chlumec nad Cidlinou. It is halfway from Prague to Hradec Králové. It has got about 330 inhabitants living in 130 houses and 5 block of flats. Its area comprises about 430 ha.

History

Places of interest

In this small village there are some historical sights and many places worth visiting. One of those things is a belfry with a cross and the statuette of Virgin Mary located in a little square. The second place of interest is 300 years old oak. The tree stands in the wood “Vine” and its circumference is 565 cm and height is 25 m. It was a part of Princely Way, where many other many oaks used to be. Last place worth mentioning is a local cemetery. Many yang men who served in World War II were buried here..

Cultural life

The main places where you can enjoy some time here is probably a municipal bar, a football pitch or an outdoor dance floor. The two balls are held in this village every year. In addition, some special events are held here. For example, local football team beat major league team Slavia. Czech famous band “Vypsaná fixa” was participating on an outdoor dance floor here.
