Kuzey Güney is a Turkish romantic drama / soap opera television series created and written by Ece Yörenç and Melek Gençoğlu. The series stars Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ as Kuzey Tekinoğlu, a restless son of an Istanbul baker, who comes back from prison four years after he admits to a crime his brother, Güney, comitted. The story is loosely base on Orhan Pamuk's novel Cevdet Bey ve Oğulları (Template:Lang-en)[1].
The series is broadcast in the Turkey on the popular Kanal D channel, and is produced by Ay Yapım[2]. It premiered on September 7th, 2011 and is currently Turkey's second most popular TV show, after Muhteşem Yüzyıl[3].
Kuzey Güney airs every Wednesday evening at 8 pm on Kanal D.
Overview
Kuzey Güney is a story of two brothers Kuzey and Güney. Kuzey (meaning north in Turkish) is bold but rash, rebellious, has difficulty to control his anger, fearless, cannot tolerate injustice, impatient and let's his fists do the talking for him. Güney (meaning south) is the opposite of Kuzey. He's calm, patient, doesn't act without thinking, overall a hardworking young man. The only thing the two men have in common is their deep love for Cemre.
