Jordanhill is a mainly middle-class area of the West End of the city of Glasgow, Scotland. It is characterised by its detached and semi-detached style of housing, unusual for Glasgow which is predominantly made up of tenemental property.

The area was home to the Jordanhill Teacher Training College, which has subsequently became a part of the University of Strathclyde.

Jordanhill School is the only public school in Scotland which receives its funding directly from the Scottish Executive, rather than through a local council: Scotland's only free semi-private school which is grant aided by the Scottish Executive. The current rector is Paul Thompson who has recently implemented IT throughout the school.

Jordanhill has a few Chinese takeaways, a train station, a petrol garage and a couple of newsagents.

It is also home to the J-Hill Mafia.

The two pubs in the locality are "Pablos" and "The Three Craws" (Scots: crows).

On February 11th, 2006, armed robbers wearing ski masks held up security guards outside Jordanhill's branch of the Bank of Scotland, and made off with £10,000. A police spokesman said, "We're appealing for witnesses who saw them running through Hyndland railway station when the box's alarm went off." [1]
