Impact Factor Language
I propose that we eliminate, or at the very least consolidate and qualify, the currently substantial portion of the AJOB entry devoted to impact factors. I will highlight briefly three reasons.
1. Other journals with exponentially greater size and reach do not devote nearly this much copy to impact factors. Nature: 30 words, Science: 12 words, AJOB: 68 words. 2. The value of impact factors is hotly debated. 3. The impetus for including so much on impact factors in this article may be self-promotional; this language was added by User:Bioethicsgeek, who has only edited the AJOB page and the page of editor Glenn McGee, whose own bio page has a history with conflicts of interest. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 143.229.208.196 (talk) 20:05, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
