Kanazawa-ku (金沢区) is a ward located in the southernmost part of Yokohama, newly established from Isogo-ku in May, 1948.
The east of Kanazawa-ku faces Tokyo Bay, the south faces Yokosuka, Zushi, and Kamakura.
The population of Kanazawa-ku is 208,317 as of October 12004.
The symbol, established 1987, expresses the image of sea, waves, and a sea gull.

Beaches
(Nojima Beach)
It is the last remaining natural beach in Yokohama city. The beach is shallow for a good distance from the shore.
(Umi no Kouen)
Umi no kouen is a park of Yokohama city. There is an artificial beach. The sand was carried by ship from Chiba prefecture. Visitors can go shellfish gathering there.
