The 2009 Heineken Open is a tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It is the 34th edition of the Heineken Open, and part of the ATP World Tour 250 series of the 2009 ATP Tour. It will take place at the ASB Tennis Centre in Auckland, New Zealand, from January 12 through January 17, 2008.

The announced singles field is headlined by Stuttgart, Kitzbuhel, Los Angeles, Washington titlist and Tokyo runner-up Juan Martin del Potro, Valencia, 's-Hertogenbosch winner and Barcelona runner-up David Ferrer, and Lyon champion and Rotterdam, Memphis and Stockholm finalist Robin Söderling. Also announced are Costa do Sauípe and Acapulco winner Nicolas Almagro, Auckland defending champion Philipp Kohlschreiber, Sam Querrey, Albert Montanes and Juan Monaco.[1]
