The 2008 Stanley Cup Final(s) will determine the Stanley Cup and National Hockey League (NHL) champion for the 2007–08 season. The best-of-7 series will begin in the last week of May at a date to be determined, pending the completion of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Philadelphia Flyers and the Western Conference Finals between the Detroit Red Wings and the Dallas Stars. Game 7 (if necessary) will take place on June 9.[1]

This will be the first Stanley Cup Finals since 2003 that two American-based NHL teams will compete in the championship series. Therefore, the 1993 Montreal Canadiens remain the last Canadian-based team to have won the Cup.

The Cup Finals will be broadcast in Canada as part of CBC's Hockey Night in Canada. In the United States, Versus will broadcast Games 1 and 2, and NBC will broadcast the rest of the series.[1]
