Nemesis is also the title of a 1917 H.P. Lovecraft poem, quoted at the begining of his story, The Haunter of the Dark. The poem can be found here http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Nemesis [[User:]]

I think it is a very questionable claim that divine retribution is the unifying theme in the Odyssey, or even a unifying one. The Greek gods hated immorality, to be sure, but are just as happy punishing people who have made good, as when Zeus protector of suppliants with Poseidon punished the Phaeacians for being good hosts. Agamemnon's murder is repeated again and again, but the events that put it in a moral light - the murder of Iphigenia, and all that - are not mentioned. All in all, I would say the poem is a creation of a time before Nemesis played an important role.

I think tha novel of asimov as nothing to do with a copanion of the Sun. Can anyone verify ?

I made the following changes to the article page:

Specifically, I merged the following from Nemesis (disambiguation) to Nemesis (mythology):

The name Nemesis is related to the Greek word νείμειν, meaning "to give what is due".
Nemesis has been described as the daughter of Oceanus or Zeus, but according to Hesiod she was a child of Erebus and Nyx. She has also been described as the daughter of Nyx alone. Her cult may have originated at Smyrna.

Someone who knows the topic may want to check this for accuracy. --Cjmnyc 22:34, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
