Juelz Santana

LaRon Louis James (born on February 18 1983) is an American rapper, small time actor and producer. He is better known by his stage name, Juelz Santana. He came to fame following his appearances on Cam'ron's 2002 singles, "Oh Boy" and "Hey Ma".

Biography

Early career

Juelz Santana was born in Harlem, New York to parents of African American and Dominican descent.[1] He began writing rhymes at the age of twelve and was originally signed to Priority Records as one half of the duo called Draft Pick. The group had several shows around New York City while together, including Amateur Night at the Apollo Theatre, where they won two weeks in a row. Some time after this, he was introduced to Cam'ron through a cousin. He impressed Cam'ron with his unique delivery and command of his freestyles and Cam'ron, a seasoned artist, recognized star potential in the teenage Santana. His first rapping appearance can be heard on Cam'ron's remix of "What Means The World To You", which features artists such as Ludacris, Pimp C, Bun B, and Trina. He is now signed as a solo artist to Diplomat Records/Def Jam Recordings.

From Me to U

In 1999, Juelz Santana impressed Cam'ron so much with his freestyling ability and delivery that he earned a featured spot on Cam'ron's second album, "S.D.E." He was featured on the tracks "Double Up" and "All The Chickens".

In 2002, Santana would earn more fame when he was featured on Cam'ron's two smash singles, "Oh Boy" and "Hey Ma" from Cam'ron's third album "Come Home With Me".

In 2003, Santana released an album, From Me to U, under Roc-A-Fella & Def Jam Records. According to dipsetmixtapes.com the album reached "Gold" status.

What the Game's Been Missing

What the Game's Been Missing is the second album from Juelz Santana. It includes appearances by fellow Diplomats member, Cam'ron, as well as Lil Wayne and Young Jeezy. On January 3 2006, the album was certified gold by the RIAA. It was later certified platinum stated on allhiphop.com.[1].Which sold a reported 1.3 million copies.
