Okay okay, relax Mr. |
Okay okay, relax Mr. Oxymoron. Take it easy man... I mean moron! Just kidding, relax. I'm sorry for the vandalizing edits. I won't post anymore disruptive comments. I will only make posts about interesting, intellectual topics. I will only contribute facts that are ethical, like why toilets flush differently in New Zealand and production notes of Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo. |

- Thanks for the invitation, I will have look later what's about with this :)--Oxymoron83 21:33, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
I would like you be part of our SWTTF Anti-Vandalism Unit specifically. You seem very experienced in vandalsim fighting, and you may be a good choice to head out our Unit.

Thanks,
Psdubow 22:38, 30 August 2007 (UTC) :)
- After thinking a while about it, I'm not sure if I'm the appropriate person. I fight vandalism to all topics rather than one I have no special knowledge about. I think a membership couldn't change that much. If you think I'm nevertheless the right person, let me know. --Oxymoron83 21:35, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Well, if you don't want to head out the Unit that's fine. But, if you'd still like to join as a normal member of the Unit, that would be good too. Thanks, Psdubow 15:56, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

The person using 74.46.211.176 seems to be making small, but inaccurate changes on the Transformers pages at random. Maybe it's a sabotage bot or just a prankster. I don't know how to report them. Can you help? Mathewignash 14:20, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
- Hello Mathewignash, thanks for watching him. Surely that's no bot, only a common vandal. As far as I can judge not all edits are vandalism, but I'm not an expert within this topic. The ip belongs to Frontier Communications of America. As that ip is static this makes it easier to watch him. First he has to be increasingly warned. Warning templates can be found here. If he continues vandalizing after the level 4 warning and is active at that moment you can report to WP:AIV; an appropriate template can be found there. Adding static ip to the reason would be helpful. Additionally you can read Wikipedia:Vandalism if you haven't already done so. Regards --Oxymoron83 22:08, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

"Flash" is just his alias. Why can't the boxer be fronted by his real name? 124.106.203.120 11:02, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
- I've never said that he can't be fronted by his real name. But you aren't allowed to move the content using cut&paste which is required for GFDL reasons amongst others. Instead you should add this article to Wikipedia:Requested moves. --Oxymoron83 22:00, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

- Or just revert it back yourself - it's a wiki. I see it several times a day that users revert to a prior vandalized version. Due to the unfavourable vandalism/RC patroller ratio here this happens sometimes. Moreover I wont revert an edit I don't understand. --Oxymoron83 02:03, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

I am dying
It's true, I've got a mystery illness and I'm eventually going to die. I am in such pain you wouldn't believe. Don't ever take your lives for granted. What I wrote was NOT nonsense. Svengali123 03:56, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

Chevrolet El Camino reversions
Please take a look at the edit history. Some idiot kid went on a vandalism spree and I am trying to undo it by reverting his edits. Thanks. 71.102.80.39 07:07, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Um...you just warned me about the vandalism to the El Camino article. I am not responsible for the vandalism. I have contributed to that article in the past and I would appreciate it if you would kindly strike yourwarnings from my IP talk page. 71.102.80.39 07:09, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think this and this are reverts we need. --Oxymoron83 07:10, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Let's try this again: I am NOT responsible for those edits!!! Look at the other IP, for heaven's sake!!! I was attempting to undo the vandalism one entry at a time and the damned system credited ME with vandalizing the site! 71.102.80.39 07:12, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- So please be more careful when editing wikipedia. And I don't think the system is responsible for your edits. Have a look at the welcome page and use the Sandbox for test edits.--Oxymoron83 07:20, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
I used to edit Wikipedia on a constant basis with more than 20,000 edits and six features to my credit. I quit back in January. I'd thought of returning if only on a limited basis, but to heck with it. The last time I tried doing any "vandal-slaying" on an anonymous basis, this same idiocy happened. If anything, you were misinterpreting my attempts to undo the damage as the original vandalism. If that isn't a flaw in the system, I don't know what is. This site stopped being fun precisely for reasons like this. No need to respond, but take it from someone who's been in the trenches fighting for the sanctity of this site: When a misunderstanding happens, don't compound the problem by (a) insulting someone's intelligence regarding the use of the welcome page and sandbox and (b) take a moment to verify what a user such as myself tells you regarding misunderstood edits. It'll save you a lot of antacid, believe me. 71.102.80.39 07:28, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Oh, and for the record, I'm logging on for the first time since January to let you know that I am who I say I am. I hope this will dispel any further suspicions on your part. - Lucky 6.9 07:31, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- I nevertheless think that you haven't been careful enough when making these edits, especially as you are such an experienced user. 1) If you click on the undo button you get a diff where you can preview your edit and abstain from clicking the save button and 2) if you had taken a closer look at the history you would have seen that this vandalism edit had been undone before. --Oxymoron83 07:47, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

I noticed while patrolling the "Recent Changes" that you were reverting vandalism by User:68.88.198.143, but you broke the WP:3RR policy. This policy applies even to vandalism. You should read the policy, if you haven't already, and make sure that you follow it in the future. The only reason I bring this up is that User:68.88.198.143 was blocked because of this edit war. Thank You, Connör (talk) 21:21, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- Please read WP:3RR#Exceptions before telling me such nonsense and accusing me of breaking the 3RR policy. As you wrote above, this was clear vandalism, and of course no edit war. --Oxymoron83 21:29, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- That exception only applies to very obvious vandalism like page blanking. Also, I'm not trying to start an argument, I'm just trying to remind you of WP:3RR. Connör (talk) 21:45, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- That vandalism is about as obvious as it gets :). Definitely an exception and very much encouraged. GDonato (talk) 21:52, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, I interpreted WP:3RR#Exceptions to only include very obvious vandalism such as page blanking and replacing the entire page, but once again I'm not arguing. Connör (talk) 21:59, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Yes, reverting penis vandalism is absolutely immune from 3RR. Cheers, Moreschi Talk 22:09, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- I didn't see any "penis" edits, I reverted one vandalism myself then noticed that User:Oxymoron83 had reverted the anonymous user's vandalism about 5 times. Connör (talk) 22:48, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- The penis edit, and strictly speaking 4 reverts, but doesn't matter if 4 or 100. --Oxymoron83 22:52, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, I'm not really sure if thats big enough to be an exception to 3RR, but I guess if you only reverted it 4 times then that's ok, and I'm not trying to argue so I will not reply here again. Connör (talk) 23:18, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- Actually one more thing, I didn't realize that that was an admin who said it was exempt from 3RR. So I'll take Moreschi's word for it. Connör (talk) 23:20, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Question #2
It is against policy to remove warning templates from your talk page correct? And if so, can you give me a link to that policy, thank you so much. Tiptoety 16:42, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
- Don't try and pull a fast one on me, because there is a page where it says warnings don't have to be kept Tiptoety. The sunder king 16:44, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
- This question haunted me as long as I am here. There are opposed opinions. WP:USER#Removal_of_warnings says it is allowed to remove warnings, but there are arguments to prefer the opposite. Sorry, recapitulatory I really don't know. Regards --Oxymoron83 16:48, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

WP:BIO
Hi, I note that you only gave Dave Wong a weak keep per WP:BIO. I had found this article in poor shape and did what I could to wikify it; most news coverage of this singer is in Chinese, which I can't read. (yet!) I think WP:MUSIC applies to singers rather than the general WP:BIO, and I think he's clearly met that by selling half a million of one album. Is there more that could be done to establish the notability of this singer at a glance? I might try using Google language tools to translate his extensive discography from the Chinese Wiki page, which seems to have worked for Phil Chang. - Fayenatic (talk) 21:22, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

RVV on my page
Thanks for RVV on my page. I was just about to do it but you got it first. :) Would you please RVV on Aztec? This guy keeps vandalizing and I am at 3RR there. Thanks. Alexf(Talk/Contribs) 00:42, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
- You're welcome regarding the revert. Aztec has already been done by Discospinster, but I will watch it. --Oxymoron83 00:46, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for reverting the vandalism on my Talk page. =) I don't recognize that anon at all. =\ Hmph. Oh, well... -- Gogo Dodo 08:35, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
- No problem at all. This is included in the standard service without additional charges =) --Oxymoron83 08:52, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
- Maybe I should upgrade to the Deluxe service plan? -- Gogo Dodo 08:57, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
- In this case the revert would need only half of the time (e.g., regarding the revert above, 12 seconds instead of 25). But it's a high-priced good, you need to write 1 featured article for every Deluxe-Revert© =) --Oxymoron83 09:14, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

- As the name Deluxe-Revert© suggests, the formula is more intricate. The revert time depends on the lenght (even or uneven) of the title of today's featured article. The specific formula is

"Vandalism" on my userpage
Thank you for the vigilance in reverting vandalism, but the anonymous user who blanked out my userpage was me. I had neglected to sign in, but it was only me clearing out an old page. :) Sgenevieve 19:52, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
Re: U4 (Berlin U-Bahn)
I did some minor tweaking, tenses, wording, etc. Also reduced the size of the map image to 250px, so it doesn't overwhelm the page so much. Feel free to revert if you don't like any of the changes. And, I learned something too, lol. I'd never heard of that railway before. Ariel♥Gold 16:46, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
Transmile Air Services Page Editing
Hi, I'm not trying to vandalize this page or watever it is. But I'm just trying to improve the company's profile, if possible just get rid of the thing above the Transmile page... seriously it's an eyesore to me and to others as well. About the logo? I don't know who deleted it but i just want Transmile to have a company's logo like what Maskargo or Malaysia Airline has. Hope you will understand my statement above, thank you and God willing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.48.114.118 (talk • contribs) 20:28, 28 Sep 2007
- You removed the COI template without giving a reason in the edit summary. You should discuss this at the article's talk page first. Independent of this you may improve the article taking our guidelines into account.--Oxymoron83 20:38, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

Move Vandals
... you really don't need to warn them. They don't care, and they get blocked on sight. So don't waste your efforts. DS 00:49, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

Got a minute?
Would you be willing to deal with a copyright issue? It has already been explained to the editor in question, as have the obvious WP:COI issues, but the editor seems unwilling to respect Wikipedia policy and guidelines, and has repeated the violation on their userpage: User:Eriko E. Gale has placed verbatim liner notes from her father's CD, with no evidence of permission: States at the bottom of the page: "(As appeared on the inside sleeve (a.k.a C.D. liner) of Eric Gale's album "Ginseng Woman & Multiplication", courtesy of Columbia Jazz Contemporary Masters, re-released in 1991 (released originally in 1977 by Sony Music)" I think perhaps a word from an another editor may assist this user in understanding that the editors she's been in contact with are indeed, citing proper policy and guideline, and especially with regards to copyright, these things are taken quite seriously. Ariel♥Gold 01:29, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
- Doh, looks like you left for a bit. No worries, I'm going to request an admin take a look at this issue. ~*Hugs*~ Ariel♥Gold 01:38, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
- I didn't leave, but I'm reading the discussion and Timotab's responses; this will take some minutes. ;) --Oxymoron83 01:40, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
- LOL Ohhhh, okay well I asked Moonriddengirl to peek at it, as well, so she may be able to help. I think that this editor feels that there are only two editors who are 'ganging up on her' and doesn't fully understand they are protecting the integrity of Wikipedia by following copyright and other policies. We'll see what happens I guess, heheeh thanks! Ariel♥Gold 01:44, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

Edit to Blue Valley Northwest High School
I received a "please refrain from test edits/vandalism" message from you, regarding the Blue Valley Northwest High School entry.
I personally did not make such an entry. But, I do have a child who is a student at Blue Valley Northwest. She or one of her friends may have made the entry from my network.
Can you provide any additional information, such as what was written? I would like to discuss this with her and make her understand that being 'annonymous' is not license to do stupid things.
Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.136.202.149 (talk) 17:18, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
- No problem: [3], [4] and [5] are the edits made from that ip address. If you use a dynamic ip address, these edits could also have been made by another person. Regards --Oxymoron83 19:15, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
Bizarre CSD request
Hi Oxymoron83. I noticed that you tagged Pablo García (Football player) for speedy deletion on the basis that it is a copyright violation. However, the page which you said it is a copyvio of is Pablo García, another Wikipedia article! If you are using some software to find copyvio articles, I suggest a little tweak to prevent it occuring again :) I have turned the article into a redirect anyway. Regards, пﮟოьεԻ 57 19:44, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
- No good idea, and I don't use any software to find copyvios, but my brain. This was a copyright infringement to the GFDL, cut&paste moves aren't allowed as the history gets lost. That's why there is WP:CUTPASTE and WP:SPLICE. Pablo García (Football player) must therefore be deleted, and then if needed Pablo García can be moved using the move button. --Oxymoron83 19:50, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
- So someone is trying to move Pablo García to a DAB page? If so, it should be at Pablo García (footballer) rather than Pablo García (Football player) anyway. Does the incorrectly titled article still need deleting, as there weren't any changes made to the article at that location (and therefore no "second" history)? пﮟოьεԻ 57 19:59, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
- Pablo García (Football player) needs deletion in any case as there's a GFDL incompatible attribution of the authors. Also a non deletion can become problematic in the future when more changes to these articles are made and it's difficult to look through which part was written by whom (e.g. another user reverts back to the first version on Pablo García (Football player), such cases occur several times a day).
- For the other part, I'm not sure if Pablo García should be moved at all. The other person that User:Evis Daison Marrero wrote about at this page is probably not notable. And if he's notable, I think the footballer should stay under this title (essential higher publicity) with a {{otheruses4}}-tag. But that is secondary.--Oxymoron83 20:25, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

Okay
Okay okay, relax Mr. Oxymoron. Take it easy man... I mean moron! Just kidding, relax. I'm sorry for the vandalizing edits. I won't post anymore disruptive comments. I will only make posts about interesting, intellectual topics. I will only contribute facts that are ethical, like why toilets flush differently in New Zealand and production notes of Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo.
