Health Careers Academy is one of seven Horace Mann Charter Schools in Massachusetts[1]. Located in Boston, Massachusetts on the Campus of [Northeastern University][2], HCA is a college prep high school with a focus on careers in the health professions. Among its supporters is the[ Center for Community Health Education Research and Service][3], also known by its acronym CCHERS. Noting a need in the community for a more diverse population of health care providers, CCHERS was at the forefront of developing Health Careers Academy.
In 2007 Health Careers Academy was [recognized][4] for being one of 3 schools in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to graduate 100% of its students of the class of 2006.
