Islam is the second largest religion in Guinea-Bissau, with Christianity being the country's main religion. An estimated 36%[1] of its roughly 1.8 million citizens are followers as of 2019. Some estimates put this at a higher figure.[2]
The vast majority of Muslims in the country are Sunni of Maliki school of jurisprudence, with Sufi influences.[3]
