Move to the Paul Winter entry?

This paragraph:

Composer, musician, environmentalist and pacifist for creating music that celebrates the sacredness of life and for his support of the arts. He was awarded the Courage of Conscience Award by the Peace Abbey in Sherborn, MA on October 26th 1991.

Not only does it not have a subject in the first sentence, but isn't it more appropriate to the Paul Winter individual entry, not the Consort?Delmlsfan (talk) 23:41, 13 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Every single time Paul Winter's name was mentioned, it was as Paul Winter. Sometimes twice in the same sentence. I removed many of them to make it less awkward.

Wait, what?

The sum total of this article seems to consist of this sentence:

"The Paul Winter Consort is an American musical group. Bassist Eliot Wadopian has been a member."

and a discography.

Seriously?

That's all that can be said about a group that's been around for a half-century? What kind of "musical group"? A punk-thrash group? A death-metal hair band? A John Philip Sousa-style marching brass band? A gypsy swing band? A Taylor Swift cover band??

And "bassist Eliot Wadopian has been a member"? Well, good for him. So what? Guitarist Ralph Towner has been a member; Cellist David Darling has been a member; bassist Glen Moore has been a member; jazz oboist Paul McCandless has been a member; about 50 other people have been members.

With 16 albums and a film scattered over a 43-year active period, surely something else is known about the "musical group", other than the facts that they are "American", and that some obscure bassist "has been a member"?? 74.95.43.253 (talk) 01:15, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
