You are welcome to import appropriate Creative Commons licensed content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. But, in addition to Diannaa's note above, please also see the essay 'What Wikipedia is Not'. Specifically, Wikipedia is not a mirror. If there's a Wikia article that summarises every chapter of a book, that's great, that's what they're for - there's no need to reproduce that content here. In fact, even if there wasn't a website already doing that, it's still not what we'd do here: see WP:BOOK for what's appropriate for inclusion. But in summary, that'd be sections on Background, Summary/Content, Style/Genre, Analysis, Publication, and Reception, and not a chapter-by-chapter plot summary. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Celebrity Big Brother (British TV series) series 22, without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. History of Fine Gael

Hi, it's good to see you taking part in editing Wikipedia in recent weeks, with many constructive edits. However, I'd have two comments about this edit to History of Fine Gael:

• This seems to copy text from a version of Government of the 33rd Dáil. Text copied from one page on Wikipedia to another needs to be attributed. I'd direct you to Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. It's essentially a form of plagiarism to do otherwise. All you need to do is to include "copied text from Government of the 33rd Dáil" in the edit summary. If there are more substantial changes, it can be helpful to use Template:Copied to pinpoint the edit history of the previous page you copied from.
• For this given page, remember that this is one that covers the history of Fine Gael from before its foundation to the present day, so it should cover the broad strokes and most significant events in that century or so. There are some articles where it's good to be up to the minute with fresh changes (properly referenced, of course!), such as Taoiseach or Simon Harris, to take these current instances. A page specifically about the history of the party is not such one. The text you added is already out of date. It's not a page that needs a blow-by-blow of a vote in the Dáil.

As I say, it's always good to have more contributors, but do keep an eye too on editing practices and the purposes of different pages within the project. Iveagh Gardens (talk) 19:52, 11 April 2024 (UTC)

Stop copying without attribution

The page you created 2023 Philip Schofield affair scandal has substantial portions directly copied without attribution from Philip Schofield. It's also not clear that this needs its own page, as it's included in context on the Philip Schofield article. Proposed deletion of Daniel Butler (Irish politician)

The article Daniel Butler (Irish politician) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

While mayors and cathaoirligh are more notable than most local politicians, I’m still not certain that they satisfy WP:POLITICIAN. Butler is the only recent mayor listed at List of mayors of Limerick with an article, which suggests we do not generally accord it with sufficient notability to warrant inclusion I think generally the Lord Mayor of Dublin does get an article, but there usually also sufficient coverage of their role.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
