Clare Lombardelli is a British economist. She will be the deputy governor for monetary policy of the Bank of England from 1 July 2024, and will be on the nine-member monetary policy committee (MPC).[1]

She earned a bachelor's degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford, and a master's degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.[2]

She began her career at the Bank of England, then worked for HM Treasury and was an advisor to David Cameron, George Osborne, Philip Hammond, Sajid Javid and Rishi Sunak.[1]

Lombardelli has been the chief economist at the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) since May 2023.[1][2]
