It grows up to 15 centimeters long with an erect branched stem. The sword-shaped leaves are slightly pleated with thick veins and margins. It also has a harp ridged tip. The flowers range from deep purple-blue to magenta with white splashes, with three lower tepals. It is pollinated by the long proboscid fly. Flowering occurs between the months of August to September.<ref name=":0" />

Babiana dregei is a species of geophyte in the genus Babiana.[2] It is endemic to the Northern Cape of South Africa, including Namaqualand.[1][3]

Description

It grows up to 15 centimeters long with an erect branched stem. The sword-shaped leaves are slightly pleated with thick veins and margins. It also has a harp ridged tip.
