ProjectThis page does not require a rating on Wikipedia's content assessment scale.

This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here.

If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Wikipedia:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Wikipedia talk:Article alerts.

Zambian Road Articles

Hi, People.

When I joined Wikipedia, I found that only the Great North Road, Great East Road and Lusaka-Mongu Road had articles from all the roads in Zambia.

Then, I decided to make sure that each & every "Main Road" in Zambia, from T1 to T6 (inter-territorial roads) and from M1 to M20 (territorial roads), has an article on Wikipedia; either its own article or mentioned under another article as a branch road.

I would use the "Road and Road Traffic Amendment Act (Cap 464)" as my citation on these articles, since every single "numbered route" in Zambia is listed in that document.

Now, a problem has arisen. Under each road article, I would place "Route" sections, describing the numbered routes entirely from start to finish. But now, on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Highways, certain editors have claimed that leaving the "Route" section uncited is wrong and also that citing GPS Websites such as OpenStreetMap and Google Maps is also wrong, as those websites are "unreliable", although I beg to differ!

So, what is your opinion on this matter? Which websites would you recommend for us to be using on Zambian Road Articles? If citations are not found for those "Route" sections, we risk editors deciding to erase that content. Chils Kemptonian (talk) 14:34, 29 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Chils Kemptonian Well, this is a tough question to answer; since proper atlases, either online or offline , are not easily accessible in this nation, I can't think of how the problem can be resolved regarding citing. I see you did extensive work on the T2 road (Zambia) article and it is sad to think that such information (i.e. the "Route" section) can be erased easily by authorized editors. Anyway, when I have time, I will try to ask our fellow residents of Zambia about what books exist on the roads of the nation apart from that "Legislation" (Roads Act) cited in the introduction of the article I mentioned. GeographicAccountant (talk) 22:24, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There is a requested move discussion at Talk:Death and state funeral of Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani#Requested move 25 September 2022 that may be of interest to members of this WikiProject. UtherSRG (talk) 10:50, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

That probably was cryptic... why do we care about that? This RM involves about 50 state funeral articles, including at least one that is related to this WP. - UtherSRG (talk) 12:12, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Zambian Constituency and District Articles

Greetings.

I have noticed that every Zambian Parliamentary Constituency has an article on Wikipedia except the ones from Southern Province and Western Province. Could there be a reason that the two provinces have been avoided? A few minutes ago, I created the Sioma (constituency) and Nkeyema articles (both created for the 2016 election),

Also, there were two duplicate articles, namely Nkeyama District and Nkeyema District. I decided to redirect the article with the spelling error (the first one) to the article with the correct name (the latter one). Did I do the right thing here? GeographicAccountant (talk) 02:11, 7 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I was creating the constituency articles, and was going through the template ({{Zambian constituencies}}) in order; I just hadn't got to the bottom rows yet. Cheers, Number 57 17:03, 7 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Number 57 Cool. Thanks. GeographicAccountant (talk) 17:25, 7 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
