Mission

Polaris Dawn will be a human spaceflight to orbit Earth with only private citizens on board. Crew will consist of Jared Isaacman, Scott Poteet, Sarah Gillis, and Anna Menon, who will spend up to five days in orbit. The capsule will fly higher than any Dragon mission to date and seek to reach the highest Earth orbit ever flown. Polaris Dawn will conduct research to better understand the effects of spaceflight and space radiation on human health. At approximately 500 kilometers above the Earth, the crew will attempt the first-ever commercial extravehicular activity (EVA) with SpaceX-designed EVA spacesuits, upgraded from the current intravehicular (IVA) suit.[2]
