Rafiqul Islam (রফিকুল ইসলাম) is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and the incumbent Member of Parliament from Chandpur-5.
Early life
Islam was born on 13 September 1943. He has a B.Sc degree. He retired from Bangladesh Army with the rank of Major.[1]
Career
Islam was elected to Parliament in 2008 and 2014 from Chandpur-5 as a Bangladesh Awami League candidate.[2] He is the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Shipping Ministry.[3]
