Rood screens

The material below was added by an IP in 2018. However, I can't find these details in the source, and Cadw, RCAHMW and Pevsner don't mention the screens coming from Bardsey. Do we have a source that does? KJP1 (talk) 06:32, 9 September 2024 (UTC)

In 1537, with the passing of the Dissolution of the Lesser Monasteries Act, St Mary's Abbey on Bardsey Island was dissolved and its monastic buildings demolished on the orders of Henry VIII. However, its choir stalls, two Rood screens and bells were saved and relocated to Llanengan Church as it had just been rebuilt in the early 1530s.
