In regards to Hines Ward, I'm not sure if those are complete sentences or not. MOS:CAPTION says "Most captions are not complete sentences but merely sentence fragments which should not end with a period. However, if any complete sentence occurs in a caption, then every sentence and every sentence fragment in that caption should end with a period." |

::Ahhhh .. @:User:WikiOriginal-9 shot me, lol!! I do see what you mean. Hopefully Ward's are like the others .. start off and continue with no period or comma. Those I would do like the image .. remove the period. But like you said, it's good to stay away at times .. because they look like a sentence in a way. I hate seeing a period here and not there. Honestly, the best bet is to revert what I do and I learn from that. Now I have to go and get a bandage. THANK YOU!! ;) John. Hello, @:User:ChessEric. First, thank you for your message. Second, I'm half in the bag right now, hope that isn't another Wikipedia rule. I like to answer messages as I see them. To your point, it seemed stupid to specify a position (regarding a record in that section). I believe your concern is me finding consensus. I will follow up on that. You have my word, if it becomes a positional thing, I'll obey it.. and .. I'll also add records for outside linebackers, defensive tackles, defensive backs etc. It is the right thing to do .. don't you think? Hopefully we'll speak again soon. :Hey, no problem. Since I've gotten, I've learned a number of things, and I'm trying to stay open minded to things. I see your point about not having leaders at positions in the table as it can confuse readers. It wasn't about consensus; it was more about trying to understand your rationale because I've incorporated a number of things that people have told me in this project, like not specifying when games are on MNF or SNF in player articles or listing how many seasons a player has played instead of putting "free agent." Thanks for telling me about your reasoning and I will do the same thing in the future when it comes to leaders by position as well as unbolding GP and GS. - @WikiOriginal-9 This is just wrong, Tom Brady has a title and not T. J. Watt??? Venting again. Have a good week! :) John. Bringingthewood (talk) 01:01, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- I removed it. "Michigan Wolverines starting quarterbacks" isn't an honor. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 01:31, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- @WikiOriginal-9 Ooooookay. You do know when you **** with the G.O.A.T you get the horns. But I'll take your side anyway, promise, lol. Bringingthewood (talk) 01:42, 27 August 2024 (UTC)

- I'd suggest noting this at Wikipedia:WikiProject National Football League/Player pages format § External links, similar to WP:NBAEL. @WikiOriginal-9: Any idea if there was a formal discussion on this for CFB/NFL that we can link to? —Bagumba (talk) 02:13, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- Oh, looks like its the same discussion from the NBA page. —Bagumba (talk) 02:16, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Bagumba What do you mean, was this discussed at WT:NBA? ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 02:22, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- @WikiOriginal-9: Yeah. At WP:NBAEL, some of the footnotes point to WP:CFB discussions. I think it came up after a clash btwn NBA and CBB styles (like the raging debate of using Infobox basketball biography vs Infobox college coach) —Bagumba (talk) 03:40, 27 August 2024 (UTC)

- I did the deed to the player fmt page. I'll leave it to more involved proj members to sort out what the proj's current practice on how to order and group the navs. —Bagumba (talk) 04:05, 27 August 2024 (UTC)

- @WikiOriginal-9 Okay. I do have to admit, that's something I would do. Just wondering why it was there in the first place and filled in. HA! I knew that original message up there would lead me to the unknown! Stay well. John. Bringingthewood (talk) 00:28, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- Oh I see. The title just gets removed. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 23:20, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- @WikiOriginal-9 What we removed from the Watt's looked like this. | title = T. J. Watt—awards and honors. Now they're blank. Rice has this presently: |title=Awards, championships, and honors. It was always the first line before the list, under external links - Navboxes. Bringingthewood (talk) 22:49, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what you mean by title? ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 22:36, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- @WikiOriginal-9 That I get and I thought that was the reasoning. But, and it is a BIG BUT, does the title now get re-situated or removed? I hate to touch things when not necessary. Or even to have just a few players lose what they should have. Too late for the Watt's. Just asking. Bringingthewood (talk) 22:01, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- Getting drafted isn't an award, championship, or honor. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 21:57, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
