Neptun was built in 1972 and is one of the most luxurious and well maintained resorts, with clean water and a lot of vegetation from the Comorova forest nearby. Neptun has been many years in a row the top choices for tourist's holiday destinations during summer. Even nowadays tourists are excited by the beauty of the place.

Neptun resort throws up with one of the most beautiful and well equipped beaches on the entire coast. The name of the beach is "At the flags" (Romanian: La steaguri), a beach wide of 100 meters arranged with comfortable chaises, ashtrays and of course sun umbrellas and or a cost between 7 and 14 euros one can relax in beds on the beach. After a day on the beach tourists can spend some time on the cliff where there are many restaurants and bars. In Neptun, besides numerous opportunities of leisure, tourists can improve their health by spending some time in the spa where there can be treated heumatic diseases, respiratory diseases, dermatological diseases and much more.
The marine climate has hot summers, with the average temperature in June being over 22&nbsp;°C, most of the days being sunny, and winters being gentle with rare snows. The mean annual temperature is 11.2&nbsp;°C, and precipitation is low (under 400&nbsp;mm yearly).

Neptun is a summer resort on the Romanian seacoast, on the Black Sea, six kilometres (3+12 miles) north of Mangalia. It is part of a string of such resorts, Olimp, Jupiter, Cap Aurora, and Venus.
