[edit]To only a fraction of the human race does God give the privilege of earning one's bread doing what one would have gladly pursued free, for passion. I am very thankful.
— Fred Brooks, The Mythical Man-Month (Epilogue)
The real secret to success in life is to figure out what you WANT to do - and then to devote every minute of your waking life to learning how to do it really well. No matter what you do, if you do it well enough, you will make money. So I will cheerfully admit that, except for one very brief and predictably unsuccessful stint at trying to sell sports cars, I have always managed to be well paid for doing something that I would cheerfully have paid someone to let me do.
— Carroll Smith, Engineer to Win
Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. ... If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on.
Choose a job you love, and you'll never have to work a day in your life
What is wanted is not the will to believe, but the will to find out, which is the exact opposite.
— Bertrand Russell, Skeptical Essays, 1928
Reality is for people that lack imagination.
That curiosity is beaten out of us by the time we reach Middle School. If you retain that curiosity, that rampart curiosity, you're a scientist. A scientist is a kid who grow up physically but not emotionally, not mentally.
— Neil deGrasse Tyson

Things to do
[edit]These are not necessarily agreed to by other editors but they are things I want to discuss and/or implement depending on what other editors say.
- Merge Toyota Hilux Surf with Toyota 4Runner.
- Merge Toyota Celica XX and Toyota Supra with Toyota Celica.
- Merge Toyota Mark II, Toyota Cressida, Toyota Chaser and Toyota Cresta.
- Clean up Toyota Celica (many wrong facts and confusing wording).
- Clean up Toyota Carina (show how it shares the Celica and Corona platforms).
- Merge Toyota Corona T190, Toyota Corona EXiV with Toyota Corona.
- Document Toyota specials (eg police cars, ambulances) based on early chassis.
- Document reason for Corolla/Sprinter differences and merge the articles.
- Add US vehicles to worldwide Toyota timelines and then replace US only timeline in most Toyota articles.
- Clarify calendar year vs model year in Toyota articles.
- Add months to production start/end dates - also avoids confusion between calendar years and model years.
- Add months to engine application dates - also avoids confusion between calendar years and model years.
- Change Toyota GR engine to use calendar month/years instead US specific model years.
- Add 'Features at a glance' to every Toyota engine article. Need to figure out suitable format/template first.
- Gather every Toyota concept vehicle ever shown into common pages per decade. Eg Toyota concept vehicles, 2000-2009. Some entries might be just a
{{main}}
link to another article. - Disambiguate $ to
{{USD}}
. - Make templates for all currencies (or use
{{currency}}
). - All international Toyota articles to use
{{convert}}
for all units and to show SI units first. - Toyota i-unit and Toyota i-Swing
Make template so that {{toyota engine|18|R|G}} becomes [[Toyota R engine#18R-G|18R-G]]Rejected by an unappreciative rabble :(Make template so that {{toyota vehicle|Celica|A20}} becomes [[Toyota Celica#A20|Celica]]Also rejected.- Create article on Toyota dealers in Japan (similar to Toyota Australia and Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America).
- Create templates for NCAP, ANCAP, Latin NCAP, Japan NCAP, China NCAP, Korean NCAP, ASEAN NCAP, Global NCAP, etc similar to
{{Euro NCAP}}
and maybe a single template to join xCAP entries for multiple countries/markets into a single table (eg US, Australian and European entries side by side instead of in a vertical column, or perhaps multiple years in one country/market side-by-side).
