Rimelan (Arabic: رميلان,[1] Kurdish: Rimêlan)[2] is a town in the Cizire Province (Hassake) in the northeast of Syria. Administratively part of the Çil Axa nahiyah of Dêrik District, the town is located 900 km northeast of the capital Damascus, 165 km northeast of the Province capital Hassake, 70 km east of Qamishlo, 30 km southwest of the district centre Dêrik and 0.5 km southwest of the sub-district centre Girkê Legê. It has an area of 5 km2 and a population of 11,500, based on the 2009 official estimate.[3]
