Sutton was born in Moree, New South Wales. He competed at the 1976 Summer Olympics and the 1980 Summer Olympics.[1] He was one of the four men to win gold in the team pursuit for Australia at the 1978 Commonwealth Games along with his brother, Shane Sutton, who has worked as National Technical Director for British Cycling.
