'''Weston-Under-Wetherley''', known by all who are aware of it as ''"The Kingdom of Weston"'' is an independent sovereign state in [[Warwickshire]], England. It is the only place in the United Kingdom that has refused to bend the knee to Queen Elizabeth and has maintained independence for millennia, despite countless invasions from Her Majesty's forces. The throne of Weston is currently held by King Peter I of House Bonsall. The existence of the kingdom of Weston is denied by the UK authorities and most of the general public have never heard of it. The few people who are aware of the kingdom hold Westonites in contempt and fear, believing that they are a savage and cruel race who despise all who are not their own. As a result any Westonites that venture outside Weston are often physically attacked. Despite this, the kingdom of Weston currently prospers under the rule of House Bonsall. This article will provide an insight into the history and culture of this great kingdom.

The throne of the Kingdom of Weston has changed hands many times during its history. At present the ruling family is House Bonsall, comprised of King Peter I, his wife Queen Philippa, and their children, Prince Nicholas, Prince Matthew and Princess Alexandra. House Bonsall came to power after King Phil of House Popham and his family fled the kingdom during a bloody revolution, in which the people rose up against King Phil's tyrannical and brutal regime and stormed the royal palace. House Bonsall were chosen as heirs to the throne following a meeting of the Council which lasted five weeks.

House Bonsall's principal ally is House West. Lord Graham the Tall, leader of House West, fought valiantly during the revolution and is regarded by many as the realm's finest warrior. Lord Graham is married to Lady Jane and has two sons, Thomas and Jack. Other minor houses sworn to House Bonsall include House Keffler and House Atkinson.

The Council is made up of peasants, elected by all the people once every five years. In this respect it is very similar to the House of Commons. The Council advises the king and it is principally concerned with the law and economy of the kingdom. Often the council is left to make decisions without the king's input, especially those concerning the more mundane day-to-day aspects of the running of the kingdom. However the king reserves the right to overrule any decision made by the Council and has ultimate authority, though in reality this right is rarely exercised.

Other than House Bonsall and House West, the only other large house in the realm is House King. House King was allied to House Popham during King Phil's time on the throne and were instrumental in helping House Popham maintain power. House King carried out many atrocities during King Phil's reign, and treated the peasants like scum. One common story told among the peasants is of the time when a young member of House King beat a servant to death because the servant had accidentally spilled a cup of pomegranate juice over him at dinner. Therefore House King are not loved by the vast majority of Westonites. There were many in favour of exiling House King after the revolution, but in a gesture of peace and reconciliation King Peter allowed them to stay within the realm.

St. Michael's Church, Weston under Wetherly

Weston under Wetherley, often known by locals as just Weston, is a small village and civil parish in Warwickshire, England. It is on the B4453, 4 miles (6.4 km) northeast of the closest town, Royal Leamington Spa. According to the 2001 Census the village had a population of 454 living in 164 houses. The population taken at the 2011 Census was 468.[1] The most notable buildings is the parish church of Saint Michael. Weston is unusual amongst settlements in the United Kingdom of its size in that there is not a single shop there, the last being demolished in the 1990s, nor a pub, which was closed in 2014.

Another place to be closed in the 1990s was Weston Hospital which had previously treated people from all around the area. On the hospital site modern houses have been built as well as a children's playground and a village hall. Just to the north of the village is Weston and Waverley Wood. The Conservative Party politician, Dudley Smith is one of the best known people to have lived in the village. In November 1605 a group of men, including Robert Catesby, who were involved in the gunpowder plot, passed through the village. They were fleeing from London after the arrest of Guy Fawkes. Apparently they were on their way to Wales (via Warwick Castle to steal fresh horses), after a meeting at Dunchurch, near Rugby.
