Hexachlorocyclopentadiene is in fact still manufactured today (October 1, 2021), and it is commercially available as such from at least one manufacturer (Velsicol, the same firm well known from Rachel Carson's famous 1962 book Silent Spring -- a book which will retain its relevance as long as biotoxic, biopersistent, bioaccumulating, and biomagnifying organohalogen compounds continue to be made available on the market, anywhere on the planet). undo
