I have checked this source and the text does not say that Belgium's colonies did not play an important role in the foundation of the chocolate industry, only that Belgium put a unique spin on creating and marketing chocolate, and this is why we associate Belgium directly with chocolate without linking it to the colonial origins of the cacao. undo
