===Etymology===
Attested in Cuba from the end of the 18th century. The etymology is uncertain. Possibly from {{bor|es|ig|sebede||dandy}}, or {{bor|es|efi|chébere||bully}}. Or possibly from french 'chèvre', goat.
Palabra venezolana with French roots, but chèvre is not the word to be compared with or to associate it with.
