Lead section readability and relevance
editThe lead section currently has four paragraphs, none of which are short. However, approximately one-third to one-half of the material in those four paragraphs is detailed explanations of relatively distant history.
I propose to modify the lead section in the following way:
1. Keep the current first paragraph as is.
2. Move the current fourth paragraph to be directly after the first one.
3. Transfer the current second paragraph, along with approximately the first half of the current third paragraph, into the History section.
4. ... which leaves the second half of the current third paragraph as the ending of the lead section.
It's not ideal, but I think it would be an improvement. In my opinion, the current amount of detail about old history doesn't belong in the lead section. TooManyFingers (talk) 15:26, 10 August 2023 (UTC)
- The history is certainly excessive and should be collapsed into one shorter paragraph, and the lead in general is a bit lengthy. Generally history is the second paragraph, and the last paragraph contains the details on the foreign relations. Perhaps the fourth paragraph can be split rather than being completely shifted. - Not done Both terms exist and have their own Wikipages: Bagan and Pagan Kingdom. Can be done only on a case-by-case basis after a careful read. Rasnaboy (talk) 05:18, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
