NO REPRO FEE 4/9/2019 The National Concert Hall’s flagship International Concert Series for 2019/2020 opened tonight with Chinese superstar pianist Yuja Wang playing Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 3 together with one of the oldest orchestras in the world – Staatskapelle Dresden led on stage by their Korean conductor Myung-Whun Chung. Irish audiences were treated to the performance ahead of the orchestra’s BBC Proms performance tomorrow night (5th September) at the Royal Albert Hall, London. The NCH’s International Concert Series continues with London Mozart Players (16 October) with pianist/conductor Howard Shelley celebratingtheir 70th birthday and continues throughout 2019 and 2020 with over ten concerts featuring renowned soloists, ensembles, orchestras including American soprano Joyce DiDonato, tenor Joseph Calleja, English choral ensemble Tenebrae, pianist Emanuel Ax and many more.
