Description
English: Ships at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard on 31 May 1923. In the center of the photo is the "League Island Crane" built 1919 by the McMyler-Interstate Company in Bedford, Ohio, it was the world's largest crane at the time of its construction. The smaller crane to the right is the Ex-USS Kearsarge (BB-5), which was converted into Crane Ship No. 1 in 1920. In front of the crane is the Clemson-class destroyer, USS Lamson (DD-328).
