Photograph of Levi Chamberlain of Keene New Hampshire. Levi was born in Worcester MA in 1788 and died in Keene in 1867 or 68. He came to Keene as a young lawyer and formed a law firm with Foster Alexander. He practiced law and lived in Fitzwilliam NH from 1819-1832 and was the state representative from Fitzwilliam from 1821-1828. He was a state senator in 1829-1830. He married Harriet Goodhue in 1835. In 1861 he was one of three delegates from NH to the Peace Congress in Washington DC. He moved back to Keene area in 1835 and was active in Keene civic life.
