Casey Desmond
...is a US singer, songwriter, and muti-instrumentalist who brilliantly balances rocking pop/folk melodies & harmonies, and thought provoking lyrics, with everything from the edgiest guitars to deeply haunting acoustic instrumentation. Depending on the song, she can move from a 4 octave powerhouse of emotion and energy, to a vulnerable throaty chanteuse. Casey’s third & newest full CD release of pop/rock material showcases 13 songs all written or co-written by Casey herself. The album features Peter Gabriel’s Tony Levin on bass and the drummer for David Bowie and Natalie Imbruglia, Mike Levesque. The Grammy Award-winning Will Ackerman joins Casey on guitar and also co-wrote one of the tracks on Casey's new CD. The album was recorded at Taylor Barefoot studios in Boston, and Will Ackerman’s Imaginary Road Studios, as well as at Q Division with Mike Denneen (click five) and Tom Polce producing, and at Hyperion Studios in LA with Bryan Carrigan and Chris Fogel (jagged little pill) mixing. She is currently being played on AAA, college & internet radio & podcasts across the US, Canada & internationally. A fresh, engaging performer, Casey has the rock sensibility of Sheryl Crow, the intense pop harmonies/sound of sensations like Alanis or Jewel, with the attitude of Chrissy Hynde. An award winning vocalist & performer who has been on stage all her life, Casey and her band are currently touring the Eastern US & Showcasing in London and releasing a new EP and music video this summer. She will be touring all over the US this fall.

Press Reviews
"The Celebritycafe.com, Lynda MacClean" Casey Desmond - When I first listened to Casey Desmond’s self-titled third album “Casey Desmond” I was thinking that this is one hell of a great album, where killer vocals and storytelling come together with such passion and precision, it’s poetic as much as it’s meaningful. And to top it off…its rocks! What I soon discovered about the Boston-based dynamic voice, insightful lyricist and guitarist, is that she is only nineteen years old! How is this possible? Simple: Talent. Tony Levin (bassist for Peter Gabriel) and Mike Levesque (drummer for David Bowie and Natalie Imbruglia) are featured. Now that’s what I call a couple of very cool musical contributions to this talented young lady’s album. “Did We Make It”, “Two Girls”, “Swim”, “Scenario” and “Meaningless” are so well crafted, and beautiful, that they are an absolute treasure to listen to. Casey Desmond’s album “Casey Desmond” is in stores now.
"WBCN Rumble (NEP) North East Performer"- Casey Desmond took the stage next with dramatic flair. Reminiscent of Björk, her voice was amazing, leading into a set of solid songs. While the songs had a bubbly pop feel to them, the last song of the night came out blazing, leaving the crowd completely different than when it came in.
"WBCN Rumble (NOISE) The Noise, Boston"- Holy fuck, can this girl sing!
"CD Review (Melodic) Melodic.net / Kaj Roth"- Casey is only 19 years old and has already recorded 3 albums, she has great company guesting on the new album with Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel) on bass and Mike LeVesque (David Bowie) on drums among the musicians. It would be wrong just to file this cd as another Avril Lavigne clone coz she's not,Casey's music has roots in the singer/songwriter genre where names like Joni Mitchell and PJ Harvey comes in mind. She has the same attitude as Anouk, the will to rock like Patti Smith and the ability of writing fine pop melodies like Alanis Morissette. You could say this is a rootsy modern rock/pop album and it's hard to believe she's only 19 coz Casey sounds like a mature and experienced woman that has a lot to tell in her lyrics. A good album that could've had a little bigger drumsound but this one will do.
"Casey Desmond CD review (NE-IT) NorthEast In-Tune Magazine"- Now at age 19, Casey has come a long way. She redefined her sound and style to create a perfect fit for today’s music listener and airwaves. She’s quite creative, and she seems to be able to read the coming trends and write the material for them before they arrive! She’s a leader and her music shows this with each and every song; powerful yet appealing to a wide listener group and age range. Everything I heard in her EPK had “HIT” written all over it. Like Casey’s career, I could sum up this entire review with but two words…. SIMPLY INCREDIBLE! Casey Desmond is one of the artists that make me proud to say I’m from the Boston area! Clean, melodic power rock/pop with an edge, this girl and her band know how to put it all together. Everything I heard by Casey simply kicks ass and is quite well written, performed and recorded. -Bob Donovan
"Casey Desmond CD review (Smother)" Smother- A fun blend of singer/songwriter catchiness and pop ballads, Casey Desmond is a nineteen year old woman who has a good knack for the type of injection the music industry needs. Her music piles onto the heap of AAA nonsense and dishes out its own unique voice that will crush what we’ve heard thus far. Vocally-driven pop that gets it fuel from one-year-removed high school angst without sounding clichéd or tired, this self-titled album is something that we should all be playing attention to, especially those of us who love female musicians. - J-Sin
"Casey Desmond, Bald Guy podcast" This PodSafe Artist has a powerful pop rock and rock sound that will bring tears to your eyes when you hear her voice, Casey’s voice Is the sweet sounds of velvet with the power voice of crunch rock!
(Female vocalists captivate with a range of singing styles) Boston Globe-
"Headliner Casey Desmond, 19, is not yet as familiar on the Boston music scene as her performance-artist parents, but Desmond's big, strong voice overrode any idle pretensions, or Idol" ambitions. The girl can sing. Her accessible pop songs were backed bya bass-drums-lead guitar trio ." "some sophisticated arrangements and occasional pop and folk angles brightened songs such as Meaningless," Swim," and Lay Here," in which Desmond switched between electric guitar and acoustic" "Desmond's mighty and wide-ranging voice, not to mention a sure but sweet stage presence, made up for it. "
(She's pretty (and spunky) in pink) Boston Globe A&E- and her new self-titled album is a hook-filled collection about love and relationship things." If you assume Desmond's radio-ready tuneage is the deceptively sweet sound of rebellion, you'd be wrong. Shred, local music director at WBCN, describes Desmond as young and talented" for full article: http://www.boston.com/ae/music/articles/2005/12/16/shes_pretty_and_spunky_in_pink/?page=2
(Insite Magazine) Pat Keating- "Casey Desmond The Next Big Thing" I am often asked who the next big singer-songwriter from Boston is going to be. It’s going to be Casey Desmond. Desmond is the daughter of band members of Boston's Bentmen, who claim to be the “Kings of the Boston underground.” Her surprisingly mainstream sound that is both refreshingly original and reminiscent of Kelly Clarkson and Avril Lavigne. Songs like "Did We Make It?" demonstrate a sophistication and radio-friendliness that is unexpected in someone who isn’t yet old enough to patronize many venues. It’s a sound that has garnered some notable attention and praise. Desomond was named SongUniverse.com’s artist of the month in July 2005. Her CD, scheduled at the time of this writing to be released on September 14, 2005, was expertly engineered by guitar genius, Taylor Barefoot formerly of the Halogens. The disc will include Mike Levesque (David Bowie, Natalie Imbruglia) on bass and Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel, King Crimson) on drums. Given the attention the young artist and her collaborators have already attracted, we can look forward to a long and exceptional career.
