The Rift Rivals (RR) is a series of cross-regional League of Legends tournaments organised by Riot Games.[1][2] Regions participated in five concurrent tournaments, pitting a lot of teams from their closest rival regions (14 regions total) against each other. Participants of each region are teams who were in best places in Spring Split/ Split 1/ Opening Season of the year.[3]

The Garena Premier League or GPL retired in 2017[4]. Following establishment of Viet Nam Championship Series (VCS) which separated in GPL after their performances in MSI and Worlds 2017[5]Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page)., Riot Games and Garena decided to make Southeast Asian Region a more competitive league, thus dissolving GPL and renaming it into SEA. The region's first competitive tournament after being renamed to SEA will be 2018 Southeast Asian Tour Summer 2018 (SEA Tour)[6]. It's first debut, The SEA Tour 2018: Globe Conquerors Manila will be held in Manila, Philippines on August 18 - 19, 2018[7].
