Evansville, West Virginia

Evansville is an unincorporated community in Preston County, West Virginia, United States. It was named after Edward Evans. The land was given to Evans for serving under George Washington at Fort Necessity during the French and Indian War. Evans later served in the American Revolutionary War. Evansville lies on the Northwestern Turnpike (U.S. Route 50) along Little Sandy Creek.
