Machete (TV series)

Machete is an upcoming fantasy Philippine drama produced by GMA Network adapted from a character of the same name created by Pablo S. Gomez. The show will star Aljur Abrenica and Ryza Cenon and will be directed by Don Michael Perez. The show will premiere on January 24, 2011 replacing Jillian: Namamasko Po on the GMA Telebabad block. The show will be broadcasted internationally through GMA Pinoy TV on January 26, 2011, two days after its original release. The series is a remake for the movie with the same name which starred Cesar Montano and Rita Avila and was remade again in 1995 which starred Gardo Versoza and Rosanna Roces.. It was also adapted in ABS-CBN's Komiks which starred Joseph Bitangcol and Sandara Park. Machete was also part of ABS-CBN's Super Inggo where he was played by Derek Ramsay.
